Today in class we watched White Fang 2 as a representation/comparison to Into the Wild. Answer the questions below in one comment. Be sure to number your answers. Each person should also respond, in a separate comment, at least once to one of their classmate's comments.
1. How is the depiction of Alaska and the wilderness similar to the wilderness that Chris McCandless intends to find in Alaska? (If you agree with someone else, give examples why.)
2. What is appealing about the landscape of Alaska to you? Why? Would you spend time in the Alaskan wilderness if you could?
Be sure to finish it by class time.

1. They are similar because either of them have food, clothes or money. They are both on their own. Henrey only has his wolf.

1. I agree with strawberries and Kaytee because they both have to look for food and they are on their own with nothing.
ReplyDelete2. Alaska seems really nice and pretty with all the mountains. I would like to vist the Alaskan wilderness but i don't want to stay there long because it's too cold.
1. In The movie, Alaska does not seem to have a lot of cities or buildings. It is mostly trees, rivers, Mountains....just natural beauty. The type of things Chris pictures Alaska to be.
ReplyDelete2.Like Kim said, Alaskas landspace is nice. It has a lot of natural beauty. I too would like to spend time there if I could.
1. Alaska is basically the same way chris imagines it would be, the mountains, the forest and rivers.
ReplyDelete2. Alaska's nature is why i would want to stay in Alaska. I would live there if I could cause its a better environment.
The movie is similar to the book because the guy in the movie loses all his money and has to live without it except chris gives his away. Also because in the movie the guy travels down a river and chris does to.
ReplyDeleteThe alaskan landscape looks soo relaxing and I would definitely live there.
I agree with strawberries, and kaytee because they both have food and clothes.... and their both also on their own.
ReplyDeleteIt seems that Alaska is really nice, but i would not spend time their in the wilderness.
I believe that it appears like a safe haven, a beautiful place to retreat to without worries. But it isn't, especially during the winter.
ReplyDeleteThat was one, this is two. If I could I would defeinatly go to Alaska, because it is a beautiful place. I probably go sight seeing, look for animals and what not. But I would only stay two weeks tops.
ReplyDelete1. i have no idea
ReplyDelete2. heck yeah, i love the outdoors
1.In the book it seems like alaska is nothing, but trees and cities. Then in the movie its all grass and mountains and a tribe of indians.
ReplyDelete2. Well judging by how alaska looks in the movie i like how it's all grass and then theres mountins in the background with snow on top of 'em, i wouldn't mind spending time there.
I agree with strawberries they do have food and clothes and that's important to have. Alaska also seems pretty nice but I wouldn't want to go there because its cold and I like warm weather And I would not go to the wilderness.
